Tall and majestic, Yosemite Falls is an awe-inspiring sight whose power is undeniable. Standing near the basin, I was surrounded by the falls’ relentless, reverberating roar after the spring rains and snow-melts.
This image was photographed some distance from the basin in 2017 after five years of California droughts were suddenly replaced by months of deluge. So much water flowed through during the late winter and early spring of that year that the Merced River flooded onto Yosemite Valley.
