Waters Through Stone contrasts immovable stone with gentle waters. While seemingly eternal, it is the stone that gives way to the water relentlessly carving its way through the gorge. Paradoxically, this destructive force of nature is what lends serenity to the image.
To create this image, I visited the gorge before first light and descended into it in the dark to capture the magic of the early morning light. All one can hear at that time of the day is the wind and the rush of the water. It was a serene and introspective experience.
